Ambati D Phaco Tip (Designed for Ozil®)

Bala Ambati, M.D. created this phaco tip in order to provide easy carouseling of the nucleus within the bag.

The unique D shape of the distal end coupled with the 20 degree rightward bend are designed to facilitate phacoemulsification (using high-flow settings) from the peripheral edge of the cataract within the bag, without grooving. Three irrigation ports (the third port behind the bevel) keep the capsule inflated, enhancing safety. The irrigation sleeve should be kept close to the bevel (minimum tip exposure) to maximize the value of the third irrigation current.
